FROM INNOVATIVE IDEA TO COMMERCIAL SUCCESS
The Ag Innovation Showcase, held on September 9-10, 2014 at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, features some of the most promising Ag start-ups and research projects pursuing solutions in ag-biotech, renewable energy, sustainable materials, animal health, soil & water, and farming technology from across the globe.
Many Ag Showcase alumni companies have achieved significant success and are visible ambassadors of our mission; they transform ideas into practical solutions that combine humanitarian concern with commercial viability.
Cutting edge start-ups and research projects are invited to apply to present their business/technology at the 2014 Ag Innovation Showcase. Presenters will have the opportunity to showcase their company or research to an exclusive audience of Ag heavy hitters including potential partners and investors, exhibit your technology at a dedicated exhibit booth, and receive world-class mentoring and feedback in preparation for the Showcase.
The 2014 Showcase will feature selected presenters in four categories:
This group of companies uses a combination of technologies and applications to create visualization and data tools, predictive models for the use of inputs, detection systems coupled with mobile telephony to control use of precious water and introducing greater control and clarity in our management of complex data surrounding agriculture.
This group of companies has developed or deployed solutions that address big problems in traditional agriculture and in so doing, aim to increase productivity and improve yield, mitigate disease, control pests, enhance efficient distribution, reduce waste and contamination and create environmentally benign outcomes for crops.
This group of companies uses innovations in biotechnology and advances in analytical sciences to resolve a range of problems and concerns in agriculture and food production. They cover impressive ground, increasing photosynthetic efficiency and yield, improving soil and crop health, enhancing stress resistance and converting inherent properties into novel formulations to tackle disease.
Renewables & Sustainables
This group of companies is focused on innovations that offer alternatives to fossil fuels or create new opportunities to re-use waste, leading to greater environmental sustainability. Their innovations range from creating cost-effective sources of biofuel, to improving the availability and accessibility of biomass and biofuel products and from the development of new crops on marginal land to novel products that extend the use of food waste as fertilizers. A review committee will judge each application based on technology, market vision and business vision.
Register to attend the event by June 30th to receive a 20% discount.
