Forest Park Forever Park Ecologist Amy Witt will describe the importance and history of conservation and nature in Forest Park and detail how multiple groups have come together in recent decades to strategically conserve and steward ecological systems like forests, a waterway and wildlife corridor, prairies and savannas. Attendees will learn about some hidden natural gems in Forest Park and learn what conservation work is happening now and planned for the coming years

Over the next 30 years, it’s predicted that highway congestion in Midwestern states will increase from 2 percent to 9 percent, the U.S. population will grow to over 70 million people, and overall freight volume will increase by 45 percent. Together, these factors position the St. Louis region to play a critical role in the national freight network.
The St. Louis Regional Freightway, an enterprise of Bi-State Development, understands the issues related to the projected growth and has been instrumental in identifying and working to promote the highest priority regional infrastructure projects through public / private partnerships.

These techniques have applications not only in precision agriculture settings, but also in plant breeding and the development of new crop protection and biological products. Ryan Rakestraw from Monsanto Growth Ventures will introduce these approaches and provide a survey of various AI development efforts.

Many scientists cringe at the notion of “branding” themselves or their science, but establishing a cohesive marketing strategy can help you achieve better students, better collaborators, and more successful grant applications. In this exciting and interactive workshop, you will learn to develop, maintain, and leverage your brand to expand your professional opportunities.
Calling all Volunteers! Venture Cafe Nights don’t just happen on their own. Besides the Venture Cafe staff, a team of six to eight volunteers help produce the magic. If you like telling the story through the creation of digital content, or greeting people as they visit, or serving up a drink to a thirsty innovators learn more here about volunteer opportunities.
