Get Involved · Make An Impact · Giving Tuesday

Friday, 10 November 2017

On Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center will participate in #Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of charities, families, businesses, and individuals to encourage people to collaborate in improving their local communities and the world by giving to the charities and causes that mean the most to them. The event, which is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, began in 2012 when several organizations led by the 92nd Street Y in New York City came together to celebrate and promote the American tradition of giving and the generous spirit of the holiday season.

Because the Danforth Center is a not-for-profit organization, donors are essential partners in advancing plant science to help end hunger and promote environmental sustainability throughout the world while strengthening the St. Louis region. The Center has participated in the #Giving Tuesday since 2014, and all gifts are directed to the Innovation Fund, which supports priority projects in areas that include new technology, education and outreach, and more. Donors can make a special gift to the Center on November 28th via the Center’s secure online giving page, available here, or by calling Mike Mason at 314-587-1044. Donors are also encouraged to use social media to share information about #Giving Tuesday and their reasons for supporting the Danforth Center with friends, family members, and colleagues.

For more information about the #Giving Tuesday movement, visit www.givingtuesday.org or follow @GivingTues and the #GivingTuesday hashtag on social media.
