Thank You for Joining the Challenge!

To all who participated in this year’s Grow Challenge™ – thank you for your incredible support!

We are delighted to report that together we surpassed our initial $75,000 goal and ended by raising nearly $115,000 for STEM education in St. Louis – making this year’s Week of Giving our most successful ever!

Back in 2020, when our Young Friends volunteers were unable to hold their signature fundraising event, Party with the Plants, they launched the Grow Challenge to help ensure important Danforth Center initiatives received the critical funding they needed.

For the past two years, their results have been remarkable. But this time, the Grow Challenge was particularly meaningful for all involved. Not just because of the total amount raised – almost as much as the previous two years combined – but also because of what that record-breaking success will make possible.

Thanks to all who participated in this year’s Grow Challenge, we raised nearly $115,000 to help provide equitable STEM education opportunities for students across St. Louis.

The funds we raised from this year’s Grow Challenge will help bring to life the Danforth Center’s local STEM education and outreach initiatives. Thanks to generosity and hard work of all who joined in this year’s Challenge, either by raising funds, making a donation, or simply spreading the word, new opportunities will be created for children across our region that will improve their lives and empower them to see the scientist within themselves.

This year also marked the long-awaited return of Party with the Plants. Serving as the culmination of the Week of Giving, the evening provided a chance for our community to get together for a good time while giving back to a good cause.

We would not have been able to reach (and surpass) our goal without our incredible Young Friends. Thank you all for leading the charge and raising the bar once again. Your passion, leadership, and dedication continue to inspire us, and we are honored and grateful that you are part of our community.

While there is still much to be done to tackle the pressing issues facing our planet and our people, the Grow Challenge gives us more hope that our dreams of a more sustainable world can be realized and represents how everyone can play a part in making a better tomorrow. And while this year’s Week of Giving may have come and gone, there are still plenty of ways you can get involved with the work we do, and we hope you will join us as we carry on our mission to improve the human condition through plant science.

Thank you again to everyone who made this year’s Grow Challenge such a remarkable success. Together, we will continue to innovate, discover, and work to build a brighter future for our region and our world.
