An Indian agrochemical company with global aspirations has relocated its plant sciences division to the St. Louis region, where it's preparing an office to serve as one of its five global hubs.
PI Industries Ltd., based in the northern India city of Gurugram, in August 2024 acquired Holly Springs, North Carolina-based Plant Health Care Inc., a maker of disease resistant plant materials, in a deal valued at $41.6 million. In a public notice Nov. 24, PI Industries said it had renamed the business PI AgSciences and that it has set up a global office for the company in St. Louis. The six-person team works from within the 39 North Agtech Innovation District's 10,000-square-foot Collaboration Hub inside the Edge@BRDG building on the campus of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
"I see a renewed effort for technology and innovation, especially sitting here behind the Danforth Center,” Wes Hays, global marketing lead PI AgSciences said. "It just makes St. Louis a fantastic place to attract talent.”
