Antonio Brazelton, a scientist at Danforth Center, is studying a crop with a rich cultural history: collard greens. His project, housed in East St. Louis at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Food, Nutrition and Innovation Center, aims to bring about better varieties of the treasured leafy vegetable. All while fostering connections across the country—and across generations.
