Robert Tabita, In Vivo Studies in Rhodospirillum rubrum Indicate that Ribulose-1,5,bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) Catalyzes Two Obligatorily Required and Physiologically Significant Reactions for Distinct Carbon and Sulfur Metabolic Pathways" 2015 Journal of Biological Chemistry 290(52):30658-30668) the PMSF's LTQ-Orbitrap was used in an untargeted metabolomics experiment to demonstrate Rubisco, the most abundant enzyme on earth is required for methionine salvage and methyl cysteine production in a photosynthetic bacterium, Rhodospirilum rubrum.  This work is featured on the cover of a December issue.
