ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – There's a new chairman of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
The Board of Trustees elected John McDonnell to succeed Dr. William Danforth as well as added three St. Louis community leaders as trustees, according to a press release.
McDonnell has served on the board of trustees since 2000 and as vice chairman since 2007. He retired from McDonnell Douglas Corporation in 1997 and as director of Boeing in 2012.
Danforth has been the chairman of the nonprofit's board since 1998 when it was incepted and will carry the title of founding chairman.
Blackford Brauer, Lee Broughton and Mark Trudeau were also elected to serve as trustees.
