Outreach International
Outreach International, a non-profit c(501 (c) (3) located in Union, Iowa, will provide the Danforth Center with packaging materials, logistical support, and ensure delivery of the meals to Africa. Outreach was created in 2004 when the founders, Floyd Hammer and Kathy Hamilton, returned from a trip to Tanzania on a construction mission. During that trip they
witnessed the death of many children from hunger and related diseases. Recognizing that educating a child or a village would be impossible while the lack of water, food, and medical services exist, Floyd and Kathy founded Outreach International. Its mission is to provide safe water, food, medical care and education to children in developing countries to make a life-changing impact for current and future generations.
Five years after its founding, Outreach has a number of programs (including provision of water, medical, and educational services) successfully underway. For the Danforth Center’s World Food Day Commemoration, we will be partnering with them via their Kids Care Food Program, to provides meals to children and families in desperate circumstances in sub-Saharan Africa.
