Anti-Nematode Proteins

Using the established paradigm of controlling insects by using insecticidal proteins (B.t.s), we are looking for proteins and peptides that have nematicidal activity. Using a combination of small anti-microbial peptides and a diverse microbial screening bioassay, we are identifying novel proteins that control nematode growth and development. Nematicidal proteins that are expressed in hairy roots and whole plants will be used to determine range and efficacy of nematode control.
