Collaborating Institutions

The BC Plus community includes team members representing research scientists, in-country product development managers, project coordinators, scientific board advisors, nutritionists, biosafety advisors, communication specialists and donors.

Major partners include:
 
Donald Danforth Plant Science Center— a nonprofit research institute with a mission to improve the human condition through plant science. The Danforth Center contributes project management, biosafety and biotechnology expertise.
 
Kenya Livestock & Agricultural Research Organization (KALRO)— leader in providing seed and seed delivery systems to small-scale farmers in Kenya. KALRO contributes expertise in soil science, breeding and field evaluation
 
National Root Crop Research Institute in Nigeria (NRCRI)— one of seventeen research institutes in Nigeria. As a premier agricultural research organization and a leader in root crop research, NRCRI contributes expertise in breeding, farmer preferences and field evaluation. 
 
University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (UPRM)— a multicultural educational institution and land grant university. UPRM provides expert field evaluation of plant growth, development and performance in their tropical nursery setting.

Baylor College of Medicine— a health sciences university located in Houston, Texas. Baylor provides significant expertise in plant uptake and storage of essential minerals.
