Enabling Technologies

Enabling technologies opens the door for scientific exploration of complex biological systems. The Danforth Center Core Facilities provide scientists with access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology with which to expand and attain their research endeavors. High quality services are offered to both internal and external clients, and training/access is available to scientists interested in developing knowledge and skills in the specific areas of expertise available in the facilities. The Proteomics & Mass spectrometry Facility offers high quality specialized analytical services in proteomics and metabolomics. The Integrated Microscopy Facility furnishes imaging technologies in live cell confocal and multiphoton optical sectioning, and in transmission electron microscopy of freeze substituted specimens. The Plant Tissue Culture and Transformation Facility provides high quality space where a wide range of plant transformation and culture systems is performed. The Plant Growth Facility is comprised of two parts: 28 Greenhouses (28,000 square feet) and 49 Conviron growth chambers and growth rooms.
