Gift Planning
There are as many ways to support the Danforth Center as there are benefits to giving. You help yourself while helping our mission.
Below you can find a listing of the planned giving options available with the Danforth Center, as well as a calculator to give you

Bequests Life Income Gifts Planned Giving Calculator
Bequests remain the most popular planned giving option. With a bequest, you designate either a fixed amount or a percentage of the remainder of your estate to charity upon death. This gift will be free of estate or other taxes. If you contact the Development Office regarding your intentions, you can be recognized now for your commitment to this future contribution, and you will have the option to designate your gift for a specific purpose.
Bequests can be set up to make a gift based on a set dollar amount, number of shares, or percentage (%) value of your estate. Below is some sample bequest wording that you may want to share with your attorney as you consider a bequest:
"I give to the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, a nonprofit corporation in the State of Missouri, with a primary address at 975 N. Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63132….
___ % of the residue of my estate
The sum of ______ dollars
____ shares of commonly held stock of ________ Corporation
for (general or endowment) support."
We also ask that you include the following language:
"If at some future time, the Danforth Center Board of Trustees determines that neither the principal nor income from this gift can be used for the purposes intended, the board may designate the funds for another purpose that most closely matches the stated intentions described herein."
