Roger Beachy's Laboratory

A computer-assisted graphic representation of molecules of coat protein (CP). The figure shows the interaction between two axial CP molecules. The amino acids highlighted in yellow are involved in carboxyl-carboxylate interactions between adjacent molecules of CP. The amino acids highlighted in red were used in studies on the correlation between assembly of viral particles and CP-mediated resistance in plants.
