Roger Beachy's Laboratory
A computer-assisted graphic representation of the model of the possible interactions between the transgenic CP (as monomer and/or multimer) and the 5¢ end of the challenge virus. This interaction is predicted to block virus disassembly either by "capping" the virion at the 5¢ end to prevent release of the terminal CP molecules and/or by replacing CP molecules that are removed during virus disassembly. Viral RNA is shown in yellow; CP subunits are numbered starting from the first CP subunit at the virion 5¢ end.
