Governor Jay Nixon visits the Danforth Center
Governor Jay Nixon toured the Danforth Center, discussing the importance of
Missouri’s successful competition for federal recovery funds designated for
scientific research. To see

new facilities will allow the College to offer upper-level courses and
advanced training with state-of-the-art equipment.
Center President & Sr. Vice President Both Named ‘Biotech Bigwigs’
Center President Dr. Roger Beachy and Center Sr. VP, COO and President of
BRDG Park Sam Fiorello were both named “Biotech Bigwigs” in the St. Louis
Business Journal.
Summer Research Performed by Local High School Students at the Center
Garners Multiple Awards
Three young scholars who undertook research at the Danforth Center through the Students and Teachers as Research Scientists (STARS) Program have won multiple awards for their work.
Center Spotlight
Danforth Center Now a ‘Silver Leader’ Member of AmerenUE’s Pure Power
Program
The
Center is offsetting approximately 95 metric tons of carbon dioxide from
being released into the atmosphere each year as well as supporting the
development of new, environmentally friendly energy sources by purchasing
Renewable Energy Certificates through the
Pure Power Program.
Dr. Richard Sayre’s Article on the Trials and Tribulations of Relocating Your Lab Published
Danforth Center Principal Investigator Dr. Richard Sayre wrote the article
“Lab Relocation Roulette: It’s Your Move” for the April issue of the journal
Nature
Biotechnology.

the “Ag-Innovation Showcase” on May 18 & 19. This event will exhibit
companies developing ground-breaking new technologies for use in various
aspects of agriculture, especially related to food, energy and climate
change.
